ENDSWELL MEDICINE COUNTER ASSISTANT (MCA) TRAINING SCHOOL

The Endswell group has been accredited by the Pharmacy Council of Ghana to run a professional course leading to certification by the Council. In furtherance of the Pharmacy Council’s directive to have well qualified personnel at pharmacies and over-the-counter medicine shops, Endwell MCA training school has taken steps to bring this training to the door-step of people in the Upper East Region and beyond.

BENEFITS OF THE TRAINING

Participants are taken through six months intensive training including theory (in a classroom setting) and practical training. Hence, participants at the end of the training program will:

  • Be awarded a certificate in Medicine Counter Assistantship to enable them sell and/or dispense medicines in hospitals, pharmacy and licensed chemical shops.
  • Be equipped with basic knowledge in the works of pharmaceutical service delivery.
  • Have access to well-equipped pharmacy shops for practical training.

COURSE CONTENT

The content of the course include:

  • Introduction to Pharmaceutical Care
  • Rudiments of Dispensing
  • Awareness of Some Diseases of Public Health Importance
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills
  • Documentation and Inventory Control

The taught component will run for three months, while the practical attachment will take another three months to complete. The Pharmacy Council will conduct the final exams after the practical training for participants to get certified.
